Mu-deok learns of the four famed young heirs of the Jin, Park, Seo and Jang families, and quietly swears they will all die.
Everyone in Songrim is gathered and locked in while Jin Cho-yeon brings Gwigu, the Jin family's ghost dog that sniffs out sorcery.
The Four Seasons are together again for the first time since Uk and Cho-yeon called off their wedding, and it shows.
Gwigu turns up, Uk tells Mu-deok to run, and Cho-yeon finds her family's heirloom pottery smashed in his hands.
Cho-yeon hopes Uk can join the family now; her mother refuses and tells her she must take her late sister's place guarding Jinyowon.
On the way to see Uk, the friends tease each other over their reasons for coming, from fishing plans to medicine to nitpicking.
Uk unsheathes his father's sword but cannot control his arm; a binding bracelet stops him, and the Prince dares the four heirs to fight him together.
Cho-yeon brags that Uk beat the Crown Prince, but the leader hears Uk threatened the Prince and orders him locked up as dangerous.
Cho-yeon's mother offers to block the King's order with the Jin family plaque, if Uk marries Cho-yeon; Cho-yeon says she still wants him.
Cho-yeon asks for her missing sister Bu-yeon's room, is refused, and is promised the yin-and-yang jade for wedding rings.
Cho-yeon nearly wastes Jinyowon's love perfume on her letter to Uk, and Dang-gu reluctantly lends his hand for ring sizing.
At Chwiseonru shopping for wedding rings, Cho-yeon's jade breaks and the staff gossip that Uk carried drunk Mu-deok on his back.
Cho-yeon orders her future maid to carry an already broken stone; Mu-deok refuses, then spots a dangerous man and grabs it after all.
The Crown Prince is told the maid broke the yin-and-yang jade meant for the wedding rings and fled, then Yul turns up looking for her too.
Uk takes responsibility for his maid before Jinyowon's leader, wins permission to search for her himself, and asks to enter the relic vault.
Warned the vault's relics can trap anyone forever, Yul and the Crown Prince insist on going in with Uk, and are given one hour.
Locked up, Mu-deok rattles Cho-yeon with a superstition about broken jade, then accuses her of framing the maid; Cho-yeon threatens to sell her.
The broken mirrors lead them to the Mirror of Longing. Its leader refuses even a royal order to move it and vows to seal the door on Uk.
Cho-yeon claims the broken jade, the damaged mirror and the sealed door as her own doing, and the family agrees to keep it quiet.
When gossip says Cho-yeon is marrying, Dang-gu lets the girls believe it is him, offering to take the blame for a breakup later.
Cho-yeon begs her mother to stop it, Uk defends as coached, an order goes out to smash the water crocks, and Uk ends the match with Tansu.
Master Jin returns from a southern island with an orphan of the right age, but Jinyowon's door gives its verdict and Ho-gyeong sends her away.
An engaged pair plan a public fight to end their engagement, but she wants to see a magic show first, so they delay the breakup.
Cho-yeon thanks Dang-gu for playing her fiance; he says his feelings were sincere and he was ready to give up being Songrim's heir.
Jin Mu tells Ho-gyeong a drowned girl may be Bu-yeon; nearby So-i studies her future family and decides to look more pitiful.
Jin Ho-gyeong rages over the room kept for her lost daughter, while Cho-yeon's father gives her an early birthday gift and braids her hair.
At the inn Mu-deok runs into Jin Cho-yeon, who begs her to keep quiet; Mu-deok needles her about lying, then they spot Songrim's leader.
Framed for murder, Mu-deok begs Cho-yeon to vouch for her; when Cho-yeon refuses, Mu-deok threatens to ask her mother instead.
Lady Jin plans a vase for her blind daughter's room; she finds Mu-deok inside and furiously throws her out.
Told the room belonged to a daughter thought drowned, Mu-deok learns she was blind and wonders if that is why she felt something.
Cho-yeon tells Park Jin she saw Mu-deok at the inn, insisting it was her first visit, and suspicion shifts to the swindler So-i.
Jinyowon's leader demands Gwigu back, accuses Master Lee of stealing it, and kills the dog that housed the relic to protect her daughter.
Asked why Gwigu attacked her, Cho-yeon admits she used a love charm; Gwigu is gone for good and her mother turns on her.
Ho-gyeong rejects a match and eyes the Crown Prince for Cho-yeon; Cho-yeon refuses, Dang-gu declares himself, and both get thrown out.
Cast out with nowhere to go, Dang-gu suggests an inn and panics over how it sounds, until Maidservant Kim comes looking for Uk.
Over tea, both runaways privately admit they were swept up in the moment and want to go home, each afraid of hurting the other.
Cho-yeon rejects dish after dish as too greasy, salty or sweet until the staff notice she is just as fussy as Uk.
Cho-yeon tells Mu-deok her blind sister was their mother's pride, gifted enough to trap souls, and insists she is still alive.
Offered a way home if they swear never to meet again, the couple admit they had doubts but cannot give each other up.
Tending Mu-deok after a fall, Cho-yeon notices an old scar in the very place her sister was cut as a child.
Ho-gyeong embraces her 'daughter' and Cho-yeon meets her 'sister'; So-i spots Mu-deok, wonders if she should have killed her, and weeps in Bu-yeon's room.
The fake Bu-yeon claims Mu-deok's energy is dark, then asks Jin Mu if the real daughter is dead and resolves to keep the secret.
Sent to fetch the book, Dang-gu fakes hunger to buy time, then tells Cho-yeon her returned sister is So-i.
Tracking the queen's eunuch to an apothecary, Dang-gu jokes their old love charm worked, then Cho-yeon spots her own father there.
Cho-yeon walks in as her father vows to kill the Queen once his sister changes bodies, and demands to know whose soul is in the Queen.
Jin Mu abandons the shaman, her brother tells her to flee with the last Soul Ejector, and Cho-yeon screams for her father.
In their wedding clothes, Dang-gu and Cho-yeon tenderly call each other husband and wife before slipping off to see her father.
Under Jin Mu's control, Mu-deok attacks Cho-yeon's father at Sejukwon; Dang-gu fails to stop her and Cho-yeon weeps over her father.
Jin Mu arrives claiming to hunt the soul shifter Naksu; news comes of the killing, and Cho-yeon confirms the assassin is Mu-deok.
Cho-yeon vows to kill her father's killer, but Jin Ho-gyeong insists Naksu be captured alive to learn whose body she is in.
Asked to let Songrim hunt a soul shifter inside, Cho-yeon refuses and blames him for her father's death, denying him any apology.
After her sister checks on her, Jang Uk embeds more steps in the wall for Bu-yeon, saying they are guilty of the same crime.
Cho-yeon learns of a sudden wedding and questions who her sister really is; their mother tells Bu-yeon she will wed but never leave her room.
Jinyowon lets Songrim think Cho-yeon is the bride, and a drunken Dang-gu wails his love for her as he is tucked in.
As the bride arrives at the groom's house and hope fades, Jang Uk appears and Bu-yeon leaves with him, calling him her husband.
Suspected of stealing the bride, a tearful Dang-gu learns from Seo Yul that the secret wedding was for Jin Bu-yeon, not Cho-yeon.
Jin Ho-gyeong accuses Park Dang-gu of kidnapping the bride, and Cho-yeon is forced to admit her sister Bu-yeon is alive.
Songrim spreads Bu-yeon's portrait across Daeho, while the Queen rages that her cousin planned to marry into the family she blames for her body.
Bu-yeon tells her sister her groom has come for her; Dang-gu and Cho-yeon are stunned and the Assembly settles for Uk as son-in-law.
Dang-gu realizes Bu-yeon wore Madam Do-hwa's dress, earning a jealous jab from Cho-yeon before he insists his heart races for her.
Introductions at the banquet; when the Queen moves to send Cho-yeon away, Bu-yeon offers to leave in her place.
Under the fireworks a soul shifter kills 'Bu-yeon', but she walks in alive: it was Gwiseo, Jinyowon's nail-eating white mouse.
Expecting rejection after three years, she trembles, until he shows he kept the lovers' charm all along and she puts on the diamonds for him.
Heo Yeom lays out a water wick, Yul's energy and the fire bird's power, and explains why Cho-yeon's blood is the key.
A warning about pregnancy sends Dang-gu into a panic; Bu-yeon volunteers and flatly insists there is no chance for her and Uk.
When Lady Jin sends for the plaque, Bu-yeon pulls rank on Cho-yeon to go herself, remembering Jin Mu as the man who trained and killed her.
The Assembly's mages force their way in; Jin Mu drains Jin Ho-gyeong until Cho-yeon opens the door, and Jinyowon starts to collapse.
