Berlin rages that Tokyo fired at two officers and broke the one rule they rehearsed endlessly; she insists an officer shot at her first.

In the quiet hours Berlin asks Rio why Tokyo says they are not together, then describes what he heard through the wall every night.

Berlin lectures Rio on what love becomes after a baby, admits he believed in love five times, and explains why The Professor put him in charge.

In the countryside the crew dreams out loud: a Maserati and a gym, new lungs for Moscow, a winery in Provence, an island, a plane. Rob big, dream big.

Alison breaks down filming a video for her parents about the photo; Rio shrugs it off like going topless on a beach and she admits she never has.

Rio accuses Tokyo of using him for five months; she calls him her everything, then snaps. Meanwhile Alison logs in and the police capture six seconds of Rio.

Rio admits he got distracted by Tokyo; Berlin answers with the tale of his 44-year-old French teacher and reminds him his love story endangers the crew.

Finding Rio punished, Tokyo warns the Professor the next bullet is for Helsinki, Berlin or him, then faces Helsinki gun to gun as Rio asks why she tricked him.

The gang argues over Berlin's order to kill a hostage, the Professor does not answer, and Moscow is told the shooter was his son.

A hostage reads Rio from the way he holds his rifle, then recounts her hunting childhood and a shooting she witnessed. He admits the gun is not loaded.

The hostage who said she hates guns grabs Rio's rifle, and a round in the breech makes it real. Tokyo storms in and ends it as police crawl the duct.

The crew turns on the last TV in the factory to celebrate their fame, and Rio hears his own father tell the news he is as good as dead to him.

In Toledo, Nairobi protests the museum pairing and asks for a real man; Helsinki's taste in men is revealed to the class.

In the director's office Tokyo and Rio role-play boss and employee, and she offers a cheeky bargain to keep her job.

Rio tells Tokyo he could have had a legal, ordinary life, and asks her for the door she once told him about.

In the museum flashback Tokyo mourns her mother and recalls the door drawn on her wall that she could open only once, and never did.

Rio apologises for the tight ropes and Alison admits her only rebellions: ballet behind her father's back, and this.

On the night of the street party, a drunk Rio talks about counting the stars and Tokyo asks him outright whether he is trying to sleep with her.

Tokyo tearfully admits she is a woman who causes pain and gets bored of everything; Rio refuses to be left and asks for a little longer together.

The inspector phones Rio and offers a two-year sentence for an ally inside; the Professor's lesson on the police going for the weakest link plays over it.

Rio adds up the sentences, asks for a televised presidential pardon, mocks the inspector's name-and-number request, and faces Berlin's fury afterwards.

Tokyo asks whether Rio wanted to accept the police offer, lists her own crimes, defends her friends named after cities and ends with a threat.

The breakout begins. Berlin realises the hostages have plastic explosives and rallies the crew; the gang takes cover as the charge goes off.

The gang scrambles to shore up the breached entrance with poles while SWAT shoots in. Helsinki is hit, but his vest stops the bullet.

The TV goes dark after news from Toledo. Tokyo calls a vote on the Chernobyl plan; Helsinki, Rio, Moscow and Denver split it and Nairobi breaks the tie.

Nairobi says Tokyo is wrecking the plan; Tokyo says Nairobi lost her son. Berlin tells Tokyo he alone knows the way out and dares her to shoot.

Tokyo threatens to smash Berlin's pill stash unless he explains Plan Chernobyl; he answers with a lecture on torture.

Tokyo takes Denver's gun, counts down from three and fires at Berlin's head; the chamber is empty, so she spins again.

Nairobi tries to stop the roulette; Tokyo fires back with the cruelest thing she can say about Nairobi's abandoned son.
